2013 Science Camps

Attention Parents! Looking for some fun and educational activities for your kids this summer? Consider Science Camp! There are 2 exciting programs coming up this year! Super Red-Hot Robots will be held July 15th through 19th. Space Infinity And Beyond will be held August 5th through 9th.

These programs are for children ages 6 through 12 and will be held 9:30 am to 12:30 pm each day. The cost is $139.00, plus a $30.00 material fee for the robot. Pre-registration is required.

The Richlandtown Parks & Recreation Committee needs you to volunteer! Spring is here and it is time to plan for the care and maintenance of your community parks! No matter the number of hours you are able to contribute, your time is greatly appreciated. Contact Dave Williams or see any Parks & Rec Committee member and help keep your community’s open spaces looking great!

Paper Recycling

Think green! Take your old newspapers, paper and shredded paper items to the green and yellow bins located at the front of the parking lot at Benner Memorial Hall. Your contributions of these items helps raise funds for making further upgrades to your parks.

Please do not deposit any cardboard, food boxes or plastic items in these bins. The recycling company does not accept these items. Thank you for your cooperation.

Playground Sponsorship

The new Benner Memorial Park was dedicated in September of 2012. However, there are still ways that you can become a sponsor. The Richlandtown Parks & Recreation Board has a “wish list” of items to add to the new park and there are still areas where your help is needed. We are still accepting sponsorship of the park and will continue to until all of our items have been sponsored or until Parks and Recreation has paid back all of its’ obligations. In addition, we are looking for nonprofit organizations to “adopt” rest areas. Take a look at our latest flyer and see what you can do to help and “Put Your Mark On The Park!”

Playground Contributions

As many of you know, a major part of the Benner Hall Playground project was been completed in 2012. We have been raising money through a variety of activities and events. While many of the items are in place, the new playground continues to be a “work in progress”. As a result, we anticipate the need to raise an additional funds to complete all of the proposed elements within the park.

The Richlandtown Parks and Recreation Board is striving to complete all aspects of this project with minimal use of our Borough’s limited resources. Have you thought about making a personal or business Sponsorship contribution? To help with the funding of this very important project, consider making a contribution towards these efforts. Individuals will be recognized for their contributions. If you wish to make a contribution to this project, we accept cash, check and for added convenience, we are now offering PayPal payments for Sponsorship! Once payment is received, we will contact you to make arrangements for item sponsorship.

Name recognition within the park begins with a $100 contribution to the fund, where you will be listed on our recognition plaque. Beyond that, individual items will have plaques on them in the name of an individual, family, business, or in memorial for the life of the item (trees that die as a result of transplanting will be replaced).

If you have it in your heart but not your budget to sponsor the park, please feel free to donate at ANY level! We welcome any and all donations towards the fund. One hundred $5 donations is much better than no donations!

**Please note, there are limited “items” within the park. Sponsorship is first come first serve. If the item you choose has been fully sponsored, we will work out arrangements for name placement with you (ie: name larger on recognition plaque level 2,3).
