We are happy to announce that Richlandtown Parks and Recreation has partnered with Richland Township to offer summer camps to our residents. There are three camps available during the summer of 2010. More information about each can be found below.

Mad Science: Sensational Week of Science

Week of July 12th – July 16th  @ Benner Hall

Join us for a fun-filled week of science experiments and totally cool science projects that ROCK! Children will experiment by making ooey, gooey slime and Mad Science Putty.  They will also take part in an Indoor Fireworks demonstration while learning about light and color.  Lastly all students will become science sleuths as they investigate how chemistry provides evidence at the scene of a crime as well as build their own electromagnet.

For ages 6-12 years old : Half Day Only – Times 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Price for Half Day Camp is $139 per child & Snacks are provided!

 

Mad Science: Mad Machines & Jr. Engineers!

Week of August 9th – August 13th  @ Benner Hall

Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both!  The junior Mad Science engineers will design and build Bridges and Skyscrapers and even construct a Geodesic Dome big enough for all the campers to sit inside!  Then the machine madness starts… This journey will include many different machines, simple & complex, we use in our daily lives.  Campers will have fun building their very own Catapults, Sonic Race car and much more to take home from this Awesome Camp!

For Children ages 6-12 years old : Half Day Only – Times 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Community Day Award Ceremony

Work with artists and volunteers developing techniques in: Sculpture (free form, ceramics, mosaics, wire), Paper (print making, book making, plaster ), Still Life (drawing, painting, reverse art), Fabrics (tie dye, fabric collage, fabric sculpture, batik). Your best work will be displayed at a Grand Art Show at Community Day, Saturday, July 31stJunior counselors ages 14 to 18 needed for week one, $75.00 discount offered to participate as student in Week 2 Registration: $175.00. Ages 6 and up.

US Sports Camp

MULTI SPORTS CAMP

Experience over 15 different sports from around the world with the US Sports Institute. All activities will take place in an atmosphere which promotes good sportsmanship teamwork and most of all fun. Campers will receive Technical Instruction in each sport then experience the sport in a realistic game situation as well as participating in the exciting USSI World Cup Competition. Campers will receive a t-shirt and certificate. This is the only sports camp truly dedicated to children of all sporting abilities.

Location:          Keller Park, Richland Township

Dates:               July 19 - 23

Ages:                5 to 14 year olds

Time:               9am to 1pm (5-7 year olds)

                        9am to 3pm (7-14 year olds)

Cost:                Half Day $129

                        Full Day $149

 

SPORTS SQUIRTS PROGRAM

The Sport Squirts program introduces children aged 3 to 5 to a variety of sports such as Soccer, T-ball, Basketball, Lacrosse and Hockey, all taking place in a safe structured environment ensuring learning is taking place. Activities are designed to evoke a child’s imagination in which they can Find Nemo, send Shrek into a spin or capture Jellyfish with Sponge Bob Square Pants. All activities promote hand-eye coordination, movement and balance and most importantly Fun, Fun, Fun.
